SPAB Technical Day: Panel Infillings to Timber-Framed Buildings

This SPAB Technical Day follows directly on from the SPAB Somerset Regional Group’s mid-May course on Repair & Conservation of Historic Timber Frames. By concentrating solely on panel infills, and with the aid of practical examples from the country’s leading timber framing specialists, we hope to highlight the history of panel infillings, their sympathetic repair and investigate any new panel infill developments that can not only provide ‘breathability’ but greater thermal efficiency for old and new timber-framed buildings.

Black Pig Frame Finishing

New Website

Black Pig After years of procrastination Black Pig Frame Finishing Ltd has finally got a web site : www.blackpig.me

Black Pig Frame Finishing Ltd is a specialist carpentry business working exclusively in the field of Green Oak Timber Framing. Our primary work is installing ‘face applied glazing’ and oak joinery to Green Oak Frames, though we also get involved with related joinery work to heavy timber frames. We also work on frames made from other materials such as Douglas Fir. We take a no compromise approach to our craft and endeavor to produce the best that is practically possible. We believe that the aesthetics of our work are as important as its function. We want our work to complement your oak frame, while retaining the option of relatively straight forward repair or modification so that our work will last as long as your green oak frame.
